Risk Assessment - Miss Georgiou

The purpose of a risk assessment is to understand and gain knowledge towards potential threats towards finishing the music video and to the people involved. As you can see from the table above, I have provided a variety of risks that can occur within the music video and ways in which to prevent them. By writing in detail what can potentially happen then makes the group more careful towards the particular risk. It can also make individuals feel more at ease as they are being made aware towards what can concievably happen and ways they can prevent it themselves and how me and my group will help to prevent it. I have included various amounts of examples which a risk can happen throughout the music video. Creating this assessment was beneficial for me as it made me more aware towards the fact that a small mistake can make a very big impact. This then encouraged me to be more organised and prioritise this risk assessment before filming anything to ensure there are no on site risks which could may disrupt and ruin the music video scene. Doing an assessment of this allows everyone to be more aware of risks that may occur and can be more cautious when they are close to erupt.

We did not encounter many risks within our filming, due to how aware we became after doing our planning for the risks. However; an example of a risk we almost encountered was the weather risk. The day we planned to film our walk of shame scene which was outdoors, it started raining; despite checking weather apps before hand. This could have been a risk for the artist as she was wearing heels and could have very easily slipped and extremely hurt herself, maybe even leading to unable to film any scenes due to the amount of pain and bruises. We then thought it would be appropriate to postpone this scene to another day and then use the time to film an indoors scene. Another risk which we encountered was characters becoming too much under the influence during the party scene, despite me and my groups best attempts to take the alcohol away. This was a contribution towards why this scene was not successful. This risk was why we thought it would be more appropriate to re-film this scene in a different setting, where the whole scene is acting out in a hypothetical situation. Within the role of this risk assessment, I have learnt how much one little risk can result towards such a strain within the music video. This then made me more aware towards little and big things within the music video, to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

  1. This post demonstrates a proficient understanding of what a risk assessment is and the purpose that it has to a production. The table that you have included, helps to demonstrate your understanding of potential risks that could occur in your production.

    Aim-
Elaborate on the points that you have included in your conclusion, by explaining what you would do differently the next time you film, to avoid any further risks.
